Is there a HD300 bug thread yet?

I apologize in advance, but I don't see one. It would be nice to have a central stuck thread for things to be fixed.

First off, I like this extender. I am trying to find something easy to use and I think I found it. The search has been long. HTPC, ACRyan, Xtreamer and Xtreamer Pro. And Lord help me- the freakin' Popbox. They all have shortcomings one way or another for me.

The HD300 for me, does the closest job, in fact, I think I can make it perfect thanks to the communities efforts.

I am using the extender with a HDHomerun, WHS and SageMC via Belkin powerline networking. Works great.

As far as bugs go though-

A few examples are:

1. Pressing video on the remote takes you to TV not Videos.

2. The screensaver random slideshow stutters a bit during pan and fade. It is pretty annoying and renders it useless. Even the fade effect is choppy. I think it is a problem with the HD300, as I can run the screensaver on my Asus 1201 netbook, smooth as silk, accessing the photos randomly from my server over wireless N.

3. Some online content streams are fine, some are not. E.g. HDNation is very choppy.

Did you update the firmware when you got the hd300? Some early versions of the firmware had this problem but the latest versions do not.

If you're looking to report bugs, use the bug report form or support request form.

If you're looking for a searchable list of outstanding bug reports, there is no such thing because they don't publish that info.

This is not a bug -- the functionality of the Videos button is documented in the HD300 manual. If you want it to be different, then you can reassign it in Detailed Setup -> Commands.

Maybe the HD feed is downloading too slowly; try pausing for a short time to let it download some more before continuing playback.

Ah hah! Thanks, I will simply reassign it, then transfer the command to my Harmony One. I need to look in that commands setup, thanks for the info. The Video just works different than Music, TV and Photos buttons then. Guess I need to RTFM too.

On the choppiness, I think I tried the pause, but I will try it again and report back. The quality is OK, it's simply just not smooth enough.

Hey, I noticed this too! I watch a lot of revision3 podcasts (GeekBeat, Tekzilla, HDNation), and they all seem substantially choppier on my HD300 than on my HD100. This is true even if I "record" them and play them back from videos.

I've tried the latest "release" fw, as well as the latest beta.

I notice that I get distorted audio when RW/FF an AVC/AAC in MP4 container video. I have to stop the video, open up another video and then start the original video from the beginning to fix it, but sometimes this doesn't even fix it.
I have 1x HD100 and 2x HD200's and I do not have any audio issues with them...

Yes, it prompted me for that I think when I first fired up the 300. I am also running the latest RC on the software, maybe that is the problem?

Good. It is too bad, these are some of the best shows online IMHO. I am sure this will be worked out.

Try the latest beta (20101005-0). It includes a fix "Enable workaround for h264 video with invalid buffer management". After applying this update, Revision 3 podcasts look a *lot* better to me.

I did install this last night and I agree. I watched a bit of the HDNation and I can tell a significant difference. Thanks.
