File dates/times wrong
When converting a file, sage apparently places the original file date onto the newly created convert file. How do I stop that? I want the newly created file to have the proper system time when it was created. Thanks.

No answers?
No way to time-stamp the file with the correct info (when converted)? Many people utilize file time and date stamps to help organized their computers. To me, this problem removes an important tool (date sorting) from a person's ability to organize. |

I think the issue is, that that's how you want it to behave. Me personally, if I was recording/storing/converting, I would rather have the original Air date to be on it and not whatever date I happened to convert the file on. Otehrwise, how would I know for sure I was watching a season in the right order? Further, wouldn't the Date Modifier show you what date it was created on?
Edit: Further thought, these are video files. When I am working on a spreadsheet / doc / etc, I would always want the date I edited the file with updates. However, if I opened an XLS and then saved it as an XLSX, would I have changed the date? No. Because I made no changes to the content. That is all you are doing by transcoding the video. You aren't changing the content, simply converting the format.

Valid points. Guess it simply comes down to people doing things differently. Personally, I would rather track seasonal sequence with a quick glance at filenames than have to look at and coordinate dates.

I always like to be honest and upfront, so yea - I've changed my mind.
I just noticed that when in sage and viewing recordings, you can basically see the name, date, and time. So they were probably faced with a decision: cater to those looking at raw files on a harddrive, or to those who work with things within sage. So they probably made the right choice - to default to users who work within the app. Would be nice in a future version, tho, to be able to choose an option. |

I agree. Options are always nice. You can do a request for enhancement (or whatever Sage calls it on their "bug" reporting).
