Refurbished, 90 day warranty. If you are semi patient you should be able to find new 2TB drives with a full 3yr warranty for only $10 more.

By the way, the Western Digital 2TB EARS drive is on sale now: Newegg. Keep in mind the EARS drive is a 4k sector drive, which I think is really on a potential issue if you want to use it as a boot drive with WinXP.

the drive itself has a jumper that will align the sectors, if you don't trust that WD has an alignment tool for windows as well. I've used the jumper method with no issues.

The EARS drives wont work on most DirecTv DVRs either...
