WDTV Live with SageTV?

I received a WDTV Live media player as a prize/gift and despite the fact that in theory it's a hot item, I'm struggling to find a use for it. I have a significant deployment of SageTV with multiple tuners & sources, a server, client, and a couple of extenders already.

I think it would be cool if there's a way to use this device with Sage somehow. Maybe not as a full extender but I'm wondering if anyone has one of these and if so, how is it being used? What can it do for me?

About the only thing to do with it would be to point it to the same directories you use in Sage for your TV recordings, movies, photos and music. You would have access to play it all with the WDTV. The only thing you're missing is the wonderful Sage interface to pick your media to play.

I hated the remote on that thing.
Oh, i also hated the interface, the setup and, well, pretty much everything about it.

When i went looking for a better product, i stumbled onto the hd200. a few months later, i'd ditched my replaytv gear and gone to sage.

So the one good thing I can say about the wdtv live? it got me to go to sage.

I gave my wd live away. I say ebay it.
