2250 is ignoring tuner #2

In my Sage.properties file I see this entry :

mmc/ignore_encoders=Realtek HD Digital input|Hauppauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture \#2|NVIDIA DualTV YUV Capture|MSVAD Wave|NVIDIA DualTV YUV Capture 2|

My newly installed 2250 only shows up once in the available tuner pool.

So :

1) Is this right?
2) I know this is a hybrid tuner, can I configure it 4 times and let Sage figure out when to use it in which way? Or do I have to pick 2 and leave it at that?

btl.

1. No. For whatever reason, occasionally when you add a card, Sage just automatically loads it into this "ignore encoder" line which means it won't show up in Sage.
2. Yes you can. I was doing this vary thing. I used it for recording 2 Clear QAM shows and/or 2 SD recordings from my Dish Network 311's. Depending on what was on, Sage would decide if it could use both as QAM tuners, one of each or both as SD encoders..... I no longer use an SD STB's, so all it gets used for now is QAM tuning.

If a supported tuner is getting added to the ignore line, you should submit the info to SageTV so they can add it to the list to never be ignored.

So as far as configuring it 4 times (2 digital 2 analog) - Do you just add the same source twice? I"m used to this replacing the old source - like if I added the HDPVR again it wouldn't be there twice, the new one would replace the old.

I'm hesitant to mess with it _much_ just because the freaking QAM channel scan takes so long.....

Yes. On the second time, just select digital from the option list that is presented.

To avoid the need for a second scan, you can copy the frq file that is created: "Hauppauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture-0-QAM.frq" and rename the copy to: "Hauppauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture-1-QAM.frq". I believe I got the file name right; but you will see when it has been created.

I myself haven't seen this happen in a long time (back probably in V2 or V4), but I see posts on here from users that it has happened to. I do often wonder what causes it....

I think root of my issues was installing the driver while SageTV Service was running.

This is amazing! I have a 2250 and I knew it was able to tune Analog or Digital but I didn't know you could set up all 4!!! This is great because the digital qam channels only give me locals. Now I will be able to get all those analogs as well. Lucky for me Cablevision still broadcasts the entire basic lineup (2-78). I do have an old NVidia DualTV tuner in there now but having more channels available is always a good thing.
