HD 300--Audio Question (Bitstream and Analog Out at Same Time?)

Just received my HD 300's and hooked both of them up. Thank you Sage--so far, these are great.

One of the extenders I have in my family room connected via HDMI to an Onkyo 805 receiver. I am able to Bitstream Blu Ray rips to the receiver for HD Audio--works great.

This receiver is also set up to run my outdoor speakers and other speakers throughout the house (through an Adcom speaker selector/impedance balancer). The Onkyo and many receivers will only accept an analog input for the Zone 2 powered speakers. On my previous HD 100, I connected both the HDMI and stereo RCA cables to the receiver and was able to play audio both on my main channels on the receiver and the outdoor speakers/house audio system (via Zone 2 on the receiver) simultaneously. I just tried runnning Zone 2 on the receiver with the HD 300 and all I get is high pitched static.

Is this possible on the HD300? What settings do I need to change? I'd hate to lose bitstream capabilities--but it would be nice to know I can change something in the main audio settings in advance of needing the outdoor/house speakers (for instance for a party).

I think when streaming high bitrate bitstream audio there should be no sound on analog out. If you want to stream both at the same time you need to select bitstream or pcm mode in the audio setup.

I just received my HD-300, and I cannot get the analog audio output to work no matter which output i select.

Edit: just to clarify, if I select a source with digital audio, I will not get audio output from the analog outputs no matter which audio output I have configured.

For example, MP3's output to the analog ports, but any DD or DTS track will not.

Contact support about this problem, DD and DTS should be output on analog when selecting PCM output.
