Source Direct a.k.a. native resolution
I can't seem to find an answer to this from searching for FAQ. I know the HD Theater supports different resolutions, but what I need to know is if it supports automatically switching to the native resolution based on the source material. For example, if I switch to a channel which is broadcast in 720p, can it automatically switch to 720p? Same for 1080i, 1080p/60 1080p/24, and 480i and 480p... Thanks!

Great, thanks!
One more question if you don't mind: Can the HD Theaater decode and output via LPCM over HMDI for TrueHD and DTS-MA and other similar formats? For example, playing a ripped blu-ray, I'd like to get LPCM instead of the bitstream data. |

No, it can't actually decode the TrueHD or DTS-MA streams. (liscensing reasons). If the disk already contains an LPCM track, it will output it, but it won't decode the DTS-MA or TrueHD to LPCM for you.

OK, Thanks. Maybe there's some options to convert to LPCM with various ripping SW.

Oh, I'm sure it can be done, though there probably aren't any well automated methods. EAC3TO might be able to do it.

Bob Sorel on AVS reported that Sage told him there'd be a firmware update before/by when the HD300's ship to get up to 7.1 decoding of FLAC (right now it can only do 5.1 and apparently doesn't handle 7.1 at all). Would probably be better, storage wise than PCM.
