MKV conversion and forward / rewind

Not sure where to ask this question so I put it here-

Once I convert a file to mKv I can no longer fast forward / rewind it as I could when it was a mpg. It jumps ahead or back.

Details: Sage 7 beta 15, using built in converter, viewing on a HD100

I'm not sure that it is 100% relevent as I can fast forward, just not with the 4x, 8x, 16x (smooth?) fast forward I am used to.
If it *is* relevent could someone tell me how to force more i frames? and is there a way to make the built in converter always do that?

is this standard with mkv files?
or a limitation of the HD100?

Hi Jeff,

I think that the only files that can be fast forwarded through normally are mpgs and perhaps some HD files.

Anything else can't be, as they are transcoded by SageTV when you view them.

At least, as far as I know. I get the same behavior with avis and mp4s as you are reporting with mkvs.
