?? Change Order of Channel Lineup in EPG ??

Opps! should have asked this in 'SageTV v7 Customizations'

I just spent an hour looking for a way to sort the order channels show in EPG.

Wife is asking why ABC,NBC,CBS, Fox cannot be next to each other.

I saw an option close to a solution in the 'Favorite Channel List' plug-in, but don't see it in plug-in section of the new SageTV7.

Is there an easy way to group the channels in my lineup?

Thanks

I don't know about easy, but Sage does allow you to re-map channel numbers. So, you don't have to just accept whatever channel numbers your cable provider assigns - if you want you could make ABC, CBS, Fox be channels 1, 2, and 3.

You don't need any plugins to do this and it can be done with any version of Sage. Just go to the tuner configuration screens and re-map your channels.

Of course this can get tedious if you have 100s of channels that you want to re-map or multiple tuners with different channel lineups, but it is one possible solution.

Tiki,
I thought that the numbers had to stay what was given to them when I did a scan etc. So that the guide info would be correct?

I only have two channel lineups. One for my two PVR's and one for my HDHR's

I will have a look at changing numbers if it will not mess up any other bit of how sagetv looks achannel numbers in the list.

Thanks

You should be able to just change the "logical channel #" for any channel to anything you want without affecting Sage's ability to tune a channel. It will only affect what channel # shows up in the guide and what number you type on your remote when you want to tune that channel. The Physical channel # is the real channel number that the tuner gets tuned to. See page 165 of the SageTV version 6.6 user's guide.
