How do I replace a video file?

I just replaced a DVD rip with a BluRay rip. The old filename was Enemy of the State.mp4, and the new filename is Enemy of the State.m2ts. I deleted the old file, and moved the new one in it's place. I did a reimport in CM (not sure if that's necessary), and then did a reimport in SMM, but the file will not play. I have at least 20 movies that I did this with, and never bothered seeing if they would play until now. None of them will play. Do I need to delete the title from CM, and then re-add it?

Thanks,

Tony

In Collection Manager, select your movie and then click on the disc button. Make sure it is showing your new file as the path for disc1, if not browse and select it.

That is the hard way. Actually my app will pick up this kind of change automatically but it requires first a rescan of the sagetv library and then a rebuild of the data file.

I should clarify this post. The only reason you should do this is because you actually changed a file in a folder and nothing in collection manager so collection manager or my addin doesn't know anything in the folder changed. Had you have edited any of the data or removed and readded the movie rebuilding the database would have not been necessary

Plucky, when your plugin catches the update, is the MyMovies database updated as well or will that still need to be managed through Collection Manager?

Not really catching your question...

My coding simply monitors the mymovies database and if anything has changed it gets updated on the next sage videos import (since it has to link to the sage files).

Collection Manager updates based on your settings I suggest folder monitoring if you are not using it already.

With folder monitoring on, would you need to do anything at all?

I've never had to specify a video file. Collection Manager just seems to find the file and pass the info to SMM automatically.

Correct specifying a video file is not the ideal way to do it.
