If you force a library scan it will start the process it can take some time to fill up all the posters and any missing backgrounds as well. It also has to scale them after that, but they will show up eventually promise

PluckyHD, can you tell me how to manually download posters with mymovies?

Am trying to use the Folders view since I have kids movies and "grown up" movies that I want to separate for the two majors audiences in my house.

Two main issues with it so far.

1) Folders show up great and DVD covers show up, but everytime I click right to scroll through them, they re-load the images. This does not happen in other views that I notice.

2) The sorting of the movies in the folders is unfathomable. Would like alphabetical please.

Minor one now) The three folders I have "Adults", "Kids", "TV", show up on the left as "Kids", "TV", "Adults" - wierd sorting.

You can go to fanart and refresh from there. Or are you talking about downloaded your own. If so please see the Fanart wiki on where to place your own.

Turn off Posters fade in in the custom options menu if you don't want them fading in.

2. The sorting of the movies is hard coded at newest movies as that is basically just mean as a quick view of new movies. Remember you can select the folder and drilldown. Also you can change your view and drilldown separately for each folder/group by clicking favorite on any one of them watch the group video to see this in action.

Now the last one. You are correct I don't sort those at all. They are listed in the order you put them in the properties file. So just change the order if you want them in a different order.

my folder.properties file is as follows:

I checked the wiki and the posts and followed the instructions but i just can't seem to get this to work.

All i want to do is change the default view when you click on My Movies root menu to be List View and then i want to change the drilldown of groups to display the list view or some other view besides coverflow..seems like it should be easy enough but i cannot for the life of me figure it out.

Also what exactly is the purpose of the "assign categories"in the MyMovies collection manager? seems liek this could be useful if it were some how utilized in SMM.

Last question..i promoise...at least for now :-)
Is it possible to add say Back to the Future I II and II to a boxed set or something and change the name to "Back to the Future Trilogy"? That way in the list view i would see

Instead of the Title i decided to add the other two in the "boxed set" to?

Firstly hit favorite on list view on the main menu to make it default it is in the wiki promise

How do I change the default view when hitting MyMovies from the Home Screen?¶

Open the submenu with all views. Highlight the view that you would like to use and hit the "Favorite" button.

Second to set the drilldown of all views change the property in the mymovies property for that client. DefaultDrillDown= View

If you have already drilled down or want to set it in the interface with the group highlighted hit favorite.

Also in the extras wiki

If focused content is a group (genre,filter,folder or boxset) favorite will bring up drill down options.

As for the box set add a offline title (search for trilogy or some sorts I bet there will be one for that. Add it offline then click the series button in the collection manager from there add the disc you want in that box set. Be sure and check the placeholder box at the bottom. Then in SMM refresh the library and if viewing videos= all boxed or boxed it will be boxed.

Bug it and I will se it is hard coded so depending on how much work it will take me.

As for the other why would you want to renumber? It won't hurt anything as long as you refresh your library or in the case of renumbering rebuild it.

I thought renumbering (after it was alphabetical) would fix the issue.. is it by date added, or by collection number..

I am going to start doing tutorials once or twice a month to show how to do certain features that are sagetv mymovies specific. The first one will be up within the next day or two and it will be

"How do I create custom views and what use do they have?"

If there is a feature you would like explained more please let me know and I will put it on the list of tutorials.

I thought I would share some knowledge on how I got fanart/backdrops to work with MyMovies. I followed Plucky's Wiki (great page by the way) and was able to get backdrops to work without having points.

Points I am sure make it a whole lot easier but for those of us just testing the water, this works. Go to http://www.themoviedb.org/ (I am sure there are others) and search for the movie that you want. Download the selected backdrop to the root directory of your DVD and name it backdrop.jpg.

That's it, pretty simple.

After the 21 days, are the backdrops that you downloaded removed, or just the 2500 point credit ?
