I can't remember which codecs I was using at the time of testing but it was either CoreAVC or DivXH264 which allowed me to play/stop/play multiple trailers. I think the rest of my settings were all set to default.

HTH

Cheers

Ben

I'm showing my lack of Windows 7 knowledge here. I know that codecs are handled differently than they were in XP, but is there a way to check filter merit and/or change it? I'm finding some references to a GraphEdit for Windows 7 and am going to give that a try. If anyone has additional info, I'm definitely open to it.

As far as sage is concerned, codecs are handled exactly the same in win7 as they were in winxp. Directshow filter management has not changed. Windows 7 (actually, vista) brought about the Windows Media Foundation, which does have improved audio/video decoding capabilities over directshow, but sage does not utilize WMF in any way. filter merits can be adjusted just as they can in winxp (via any of the many filter managers out there). I actually recommend GraphStudio, as it is more of a combination of graphedit and filtermanager, all in one.

Well I love everything about the plugin except...

...I have to download the trailers manually??

I don't see the point in having it if I can't set it to download trailers automatically... Did I miss something?

If you want something more automated (but without the nice Interface Ortus trailers is using) I recommend looking at this

http://www.mymovies.dk/forum.aspx?g=posts&t=16174

It will auto download hd apple trailers and store them in a folder for use with SMM to have the trailers randomly play before each movie is played.

Thats how I do it at least.

That is what I will have to do then. I love the look of the Ortus but if I can't use it with SMM (since it doesn't auto download), there is no point in using it for me.

I'll check into that link, Plucky. Thanks again for your help!

Choppy Play back of some trailers only

Been using this for a couple of weeks and like it. However at times when i play the trailer it is slow and chopy (audio and video). Weirdly it only seems like the first couple of them and then it seems ok? Ones farther down the list work fine. I dont have any problems playing movies or music etc. Server is WHS athlon x4 620 cpu 4 gig ram. Network is wired gigabit. Anything anyone can think of checking..?

thanks...

Probably just bandwidth issue's.....there is no difference between how ones near the top work compared to ones near the bottom.

Cheers

the only decoder I've gotten to playback the mov files smoothly is coreavc. give that a try.

I am loving this plug-in. Thank you Team Ortus!

One minor suggestion... when you first select trailers from the main menu, it takes you to the top ten. There are no indicators there (that I see) that tell you that you need to hit the right button again to get all the trailers. I found this confusing the first time I used it, but obviously now that I know it's a non-issue. You might just want to add a right arrow next to the top 10 list or something.

Thanks again!

That right action was only ment as a backdoor to get into the main trailers screen..... the main way would be to hit the actual main menu item with enter, select, mouse button etc.

I've read through this thread and still don't know where the downloaded trailers are stored by default. Is it the C:\ drive on my WHS where SageTV is running? Can I specify a different download path? Is that done in the 'Change Base Path' option? Thanks.

Look in the options of the plugin for those settings.

background colour is all changed

I had to re-install this plug-in after a whs re-installed due to a hard drive failure. Now when i go into this plug in the background is all blue instead of the brownish colour in used to be. The writing is a white colour and therefore impossible to now to see where you are on the options screen for example. Really strange, any ideas how to change these colours back?

Also is there anyway to configure a time and have the newest trailers downloaded automatically?

thanks for any assistance...

sorry just re-read the doc on this - scheduled updates is a future addition.

Sounds like you have another plugin that is conflicting. It sounds like you have diamond installed.
