Its already there, its just hidden from you..... I think I left the code in the STV anyway. The reason its hidden is mainly because Jeff had a far better way to do it but we never got round to finishing it as its an ortus core thing.

I think its most likely there are some apple execs that use sage... they saw the utility of this, and immediately put a stop to it.

I spent some time browsing around various trailer sites, to see if there's a better source for this stuff. One of the most promising looked to be rotten tomatoes- they have a reasonable trailer list available via RSS. The downside is that they don't include much metadata (synopsis, actors, release date, etc.)

IMDB also has an incredibly extensive trailer list, though it's also missing metadata (you have to go scrape the individual movie's pages to get metadata), and they don't have the various resolution options which Apple has.

I guess its not looking too good for this import which is a shame

Youtube trailers was actually the first scraper we made and is quite easy to construct within Studio, we then made another one for Trailer Freaks and again it was quite easy to do in Studio. Then of course we stumbled apon Apples version and it seemed to offer everything (metadata etc) which is the main reason we went with it. I still have the code for the two other scrapers and may do something with it but we're currently busy with something else so I can't say when.

I think it has been working well for me, but I don't go through and watch trailers very much. I like that it updates the ones on apple as they seem to have good ones and lots of them. I also use this plugin to for mymovies as it will play trailers before movies so this automates the downloading for me.

So, does one use the "clean" option(s) to delete/remove orphaned posters and trailers from the file system? The wiki mentions a delete option but I don't see the word "delete" in the options menu and I don't see "clean" mentioned on the wiki

Yes, one would use the "clean" option to delete one's orphaned posters. I've edited the wiki to reflect this so it makes more sense, thankyou

Is there any way to move the "Trailers" menu down? I'd like TV to be the first menu on the home screen as it used to be.

My "TV" didn't move at all in the menu after installing this plug-in. Are you using the default theme or ?

Yeah, darcilicious is correct..... it shouldn't move the TV menu item down at all, infact the trailers menu item should be near the bottom by default. Are you using another plugin with this one?

Strange.

I am using the default theme.

I do have a number of other plugins loaded but none that mess with the main menu other than "Always Show SubMenus".

I tried uninstalling the Ortus Trailers plugin and reinstalling it. It went right back to the top and now the theme for the trailers seems to be not working and it only shows "Downloading trailer information. Please wait a moment...". I buggered something up good now.
