Program Guide is gone!

Last night Windows rebooted itself after a critical update, before a SageTV recording session, and when I checked it had recorded the wrong session. So I checked to see what was on the Guide and the Guide wasn't there. There just a bar in the middle of the page with the times.

So did Sage7 get corrupted when Win7 took it upon itself to reboot, and can I fix it by reinstalling SageTV 7. Alternatively, is there some deal with the Zap guide that it's no longer available to us?

[Update: Should add that there's apparently no video source set although the HDPVR is online, and was used to make the erroneous copy. So somehow it's telling the HDPVR to record, but doesn't know what it's recording because there's no guide. Apparently just records whatever channel it happens to be on.]

A bunch of channels with "No Data" would mean that Sage has lost touch with the EPG server.

But from your description it sounds like you have no channels displayed, which means that there are no functioning capture devices online. Try restarting the SageTV service to see if it then re-detects your capture devices.

This business about Windows rebooting on its own is pretty irritating. I think I've indicated that I didn't want any auto updates, but it just forges ahead. I'm in the middle of a big transcoding job, but in about five minutes I'll reboot the computer and see if that helps. If not, I'll reinstall SageTV. The Hauppauge device seems to be working fine, so it's probably a matter of Sage getting corrupted by the sudden shut down last night. (Restarting the server didn't help.)

That worked.

Thanks. Rebooting seems to have fixed whatever the original auto reboot corrupted. I've changed my Windows Update parameters so it doesn't happen again.
