HD200 Via SlingBox Loses Quality

2 monitors, side-by-side.

Placeshifter on one, SlingPlayer on the other.

SlingPlayer hooked into HD200.

Both showing SageTV main menu.

PlaceShifter's is sharp as a tack.

SlinhPlayer's is fuzzy - not quite "barely readable", but drop down a couple of font sizes and that's what it would be.

Am I the only one?

Slingbox is re-compressing the menu, isn't it? With Placeshifter, I could imagine it not needing to send the menus as full bitmaps, but Slingbox wouldn't know that the menus aren't just video from some TV station.

That kind of lines up with what I figured without knowing anything: "That's just the way it is..".

I guess the menus just look worse than the moving video bco they're so sharp to begin with and there is no motion/color/whatever to take one's mind off of the fuzziness.
