EP one thing that might be useful is if you clean up the files and directory structure on an uninstall. I noticed my Playon was hanging and taking 100% cpu so I uninstalled and re-installed. No luck there.. then I tried un install Playon, Uninstall UPNPBrowser then remove the files and directories associated with UPNPBrowser then re-install. All is well now.

Want to use your plugin to watch live MLB via Playon. Your first post says the plugin is available at "UI Mod repository"; doggone if I can find that section. Is there a more specific location I should go to?

Sorry, the first post was worded poorly. I updated it to say

Available in Main Menu->Setup->Plugins->Available Plugins under the UI Mod tab.

Does that help?

Well, "duh" on me anyway; I kept looking in the forum, not on the SAGE UI. Thanks for the clarification. I just didn't look closely enough at your screen shot. I'll give it a go this afternoon.

I've got a wired problem here. Installed the PlayOn plugin but can only view Netflix videos from my queue. All other directories (i.e. Hulu, PlayOn, Netflix/New Arrivals, etc) come back with "no videos were found" Doesn't seem to be a problem with the computer as XBMC finds and plays all PlayOn content no problem on multiple computers. Log file attached.

BTW, one thing I ran into installing this under v7 (release 20): I first installed the plugin that's listed on the "all" page of available plugins. Everything went fine, but I couldn't get PlayOn and NetFlix to show up in the Sage UI. I finally realized your installation instructions talked about installing the plugin shown under "UI Mod", whereas I had installed the PlayOn NetFlix/Hulu Queue Importer. Once I installed the right plugin everything was fine.

Clearly this is result of my not reading the install instructions closely enough, and just grabbing the first plugin which had PlayOn and Evil Penguin in its byline. But I thought I'd point it out here for the benefit of anyone else who also has a tendency to not RTFM .

Still having strange issue where sagetv minimizes when i start a video from hulu. Also have started noticing the audio will start while the screen still shows it is buffering.

Did you happen to do what I did at first, which was to install the wrong plugin? If you go to the "all" tab, the first plugin is something that enhances the underlying plugin. The "main" plugin can be found under the UI Mod tab (I think that's the tab title).

Apologies if I'm doing some thing stupid, but can't get this to work. After selecting any item on hulu or netflix, I get an error of:

"UPnP Browser Error! Unable to find UPnP Device (PlayON), select this to try a longer server search (~5 minutes) (00:00:03)"

I checked for cache files, but didn't find any so I ran the suggested command of:

"C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\SageOnlineServicesEXEs\UPnPBrowser.exe" /mainmenu /serverSearchTimeout 60

The log is shown below as I get an "invalid file" error when I try to attach.

I'm using an HD300 and Sage for WHS version 7.0.20.243. If I run the HD300 in standalone mode, I can view the PlayON feeds okay (although the listings are a bit slow). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So I haven't been down to the server for some time, but I was dinking around with BMT settings and decided to update Play On.

I noticed instead of having an option to "play entire video" they now have an option to "resume video stopped for more than 5 minutes"

Has anyone played around with this and figured out it's limitations yet?

If I'm using this plugin with playon and amazon vod. . .do i need do do anything special besides adding my accnt info in the channels box for the playon config.


in the sage UI, I opened amazon vod, and I got an error saying "error connecting to library". Do I need to also have amazon's player installed on that machine?

(sorry I couldn't find anything specific when going through the threads).

Have you actually watched an AmazonVOD show on the computer? That is usually the standard for getting play on to work, the you have the pc confirmed as being abe to play the show.

Otherwise, maybe check in the playon forums. (I've never tried AmazonVOD so I could'nt say further.)

Yeah, PlayOn says you need to load up all content you want to work in an IE browser to make sure it works.

Hi. I have not been keeping up, so excuse me if I am behind the curve.

I am on SageTV 6.6.2 and using PlayOn with EP PlayOn plug-in.

Did updates for EP Playon plug-in working for SageTV 6 stopped? Anyone on SageTV 6 is out of luck for getting updates for this great plug-in?

Thanks for the great plugin. I have been using the playon plugin for about a month. I have been getting alot of No Videos Found lately. Is this normal?, or could one of my settings, or properties file be causing this?
