Intelligent recording management question

I've been using Sage for a few years now with IR turned off. Looking through intelligent suggestions Sage seems to have a fair idea of what we watch these days. I am tempted to switch on IR but have one reservation, of 182 suggestions 140 of them are things that my daughter watches (8yo). Is there any way to limit the recordings at all (for example on specific channels) other than by setting a 'don't like' flag. I run through them once in while and flag the stuff I know she won't watch, but forever seem to have a bias towards childrens programmes?

There is no way to do that. I use IR all the time and love it. I'd suggest the following:

- Turn on Aggressive Negative Profiling. This will make Sage (more quickly) stop recording things you mark as "Don't Like".

- For the first week or two take a look at the upcoming recordings and mark ALL the ones you do not want recorded as "Don't Like." This coupled with Aggressive Negative profiling will "teach" Sage what to not record.

I would like to try Intelligent Recordings but when reviewing the suggestions there is just too much “crap” I don’t want to deal with even if it is a simple delete.

I looked for the setting you suggest “Aggressive Negative Profiling” but could not find it – however I did find reference to it in the manual saying it was in the General setting section but I do not see it.

EDIT - Found it...

My experience is that Sage will try to record everything in sight until you mark enough things "Don't Like". It's well worth the time to teach Sage what you really like nad do not like.

Thanks for the input. I will start doing a pass through the suggestions every few days. It's not bad on the stuff me and the wife watch at all but the kids programmes have taken over a bit. I guess this is because my daughter sometimes just leaves it playing on one channel regardless of what is on. This happens far less than it used to because she has learnt to set favorites and manual recordings to her taste so I think I have a chance now.

Aggressive Negative Profiling doesn't do anything for me - it will continually for example want to record "Daytime" and Barney since at one point I watched something that was about travel and vacations.
What I would really like is a way to put a regex or wildcard filter on this thing so I can stop having to daily filter out the stuff. I've got a 30-page list of don't-like shows after two years and it KEEPS RECORDING THEM.

You could try the anti-favorite plug-in. I've never used it. Looked like more trouble than it was worth for me since I only use intelligent suggestions instead of recording.
