Win 7 System Loud - All of Sage Quiet

I have reinstalled several times (completely fresh, os and all) and all updates applied to sagetv. I have everything maxed out on my Playback devices, My Yamaha home theater receiver is 3 times higher than it ever has been and anything played in SageTV is quiet unless the volume is maxed out. At half SageTV volume, there is no sound as if it was muted, so the bottom half of the slider is useless. I changed the sage.properties file entry to media_player_uses_system_volume=true which made the volume control decrease equally accross the whole slider as expected- but every show now starts at full volume so I changed it back. I've been dealing with this fora while now, seems others are also having the problem. Whats really annoying is that any windows 7 system sound rocks the house like I'm at an AC/DC concert front row. I just cant seem to figure out why Sage is the only thing not playing full volume. If I play any of teh same files in windows media player, teh volume is high just like the system. Am I missing a setting somewhere??? All suggestions welcome as I just cant think of any more places to make changes.

Did you try adjusting the ac3filter settings using the ac3filter utility found in the sagetv install directory? Shot in the dark, but it might work for you.

I use this to boost Sage's sound. You have to use AC3Filter as the audio decoder though.
