Cant delete DVDs

I cant delete DVDs, the delete button doesnt do anything and there is no menu function that lists deleting the DVD.

I do have the option set to "Allow video deletion"

I removed all my plugins and everything on one of my extenders and still I cant delete. I can delete fine via Sagetv web interface but otherwise I am stuck

any idea why I cant do this, I feel very stupid

Where are your DVD's stored? are they on the SageTV Server or are they stored on another pc/server on the network?

same pc as server on a local drive. I recently installed the metadata tools and some fanart stuff . I was thinking it was something to do with the plugins so I took one of my extenders and removed all the plugins

I dont' think it has anything to do with the plugins. I woudl check that the import drives you are using have read/write capabilities (i.e. not set to read only).

If you are using sage in service mode make sure the user that is running the service has read/write access to those drives.

If you are using UNC paths as your movie import directories, then also make sure that your UNC share on the pc server is allowing network users to modify your files.

• my DVDs are in f:\import\ no UNC path.
• using window7 login as a service but I changed the user to my admistrator. that made no difference.

would the choice to delete be hidden from the menus if the permissions were not right? there is no menu choice on the screen to delete and the delete button has no response of any kind

does the fact that I can delete via the web interface say anything about the permissions?

yeah, it says the permissions are probably fine, since the webserver runs in the same user context as teh sage service.. to be honest, I've never checked to see if you CAN delete an imported DVD from within sage. It may simply not have that capability.. not sure.

Are you using the Default STv? or SageMC?

Andy - is this a Client side or Server side properties setting?

Does Sage have to be shut down first?

Put it in the properties for the UI you want to affect, and you always have to exit SageTV to manually edit properties files.
