question about sage support

I recently bought snap stream software, and I been appaeled of the support, or should I say the non existant support from them. I had a probelm since apirl 4, and they made zero effort or progress on the probelm.

Right know I am debating buying sage or sticking with what i got with my hauppauge card. So I figured I ask you guys about what support you recieved. I am not looking for miceral workers, but from what i seen snap stream those not care one bit about custmer support.

Support with Sage is second to none. Really, they listen to their customers and truly want you to have the best product experience. At least, that's been my experience, for what it's worth...

I agree. Great support. Most questions can be answered by the excellent users that frequent these fourms. Rest assured, If they cant answer it, Frey will.

I believe SageTV is a better product. However both Snap Steam and Frey Technologies are small companies with limited resources. Therefore the Reponses directly from them may be wanting. As had been stated here the good people on this forum provide an enormous resource and will help whenever they can. I know, they have helped me and are continuing to do so. One caution, you may want to publish your exact hardware setup to make sure their are no specific problems.

GREAT SUPPORT !!! You won't regret it for a moment.

Almost all of my questions so far have been answered within a few hours by other forums members. However, I have written to Frey support on 3-4 occasions and each time got back a personal reply in less than 24 hrs.

Wish every other company, small or big, followed this same support model !

The support is great. They always respond within 24 hours to any e-mail I've ever sent.

Don't forget to use these forums as well. Sometime just purusing here gets you all the answers you need.

I have always found Frey's support excellent. Most of my questions have been answered right here in the forum, either through searches or posting questions. When I have communicated directly with Frey (via email) they have responded very quickly.

In my experience, Sage's support has been way better than SS's. I used to use SS before I got a Hauppauge card (on a trial basis), and I wrote them a few times and never got a response. It is also important to note the following about SS:

1. The reviewer on CNET even said that they e-mailed SS's support and did not get a response (You'd think that they would at least notice a support question from CNET, if CNET said who they were that is).

2. SS seems to always come out with new products (Beyond Media or whatever it's called), this to me makes it clear that they will have less time to dedicate to their bread and butter app, BTV.

3. While they do support almost every tuner under the sun, is that really a good thing? IMHO, supporting more HW can only lead to more SW related issues down the road.

Anyway, a lot of what I wrote just now was about their software and not support. Either way, if you want proof of the great support in this community run a search on my screen name and you'll see for yourself that 99% of the time I post a new thread someone will post with a suggestion! It's great... The official SageTV support is really good too. I've written a few bug submissions and I've gotten actual responses from an actual person, which is rare with companies as you already know. I switched from BTV to Sage a few months ago and never looked back.
