Aero Disabled

I'm running placeshifter on a Windows 7 Ultimate netbook with an intel 945 express graphics chip. I can run aero fine and all other apps work, but placeshifter forces aero to disable when watching a video.

I've tried to enable 3d acceleration in the placeshifter config, but that just results in sage itself being a white window.

I know the 945 is capable of hardware accelerated openGL, but I can't seem to get placeshifter to accept that.

Any suggestions?

I don't remember the exact reason, but I have a couple programs that drop win7 out of aero mode.

It has something to do with all the apps supporting it or it can't run.

Yeah, I am hoping they address this in their next Beta release.. When I run Placeshifter on my W7 machine it drops out of Aero, which isn't such a big deal, but if you minimize placeshifter while watching a video, then restore it you will lose all the video.. until you close placeshifter and start it over again.

At least, that is what it does for me.. if I disable Aero, the problem goes away.

Placeshifter doesn't support any sort of hardware accelleration, and only draws via overlay (this is why it drops out of aero). It's just a limitation of the product. It is designed to be able to run on pretty much anything (office computers, etc), so it doens't bother with hardware accelleration and such. If you are using this within your LAN, SageTVClient would be far superior.
