XP to Windows 7: SageTV service does not autostart
Hi,
I recently switched to Windows 7. After giving c:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV full write permissions, all is going well ;-) BUT When I boot up my machine, SageTV starts in application mode instead of just client mode because SageTV service does not start. I don't see why: Any ideas?

Make sure the SageTV folder is also writable by the LocalSystem account or change the service to start using an account that does.

Thanks for your answer.
I already tried using a different user account for the service. It did not make any difference. And there was not even an error message. After launching SageTVServiceControl and clicking on "Start", all is well. It just does not autostart after booting up.

Have you looked in the Windows System log to see if there is a reason for the service not starting? How about enabling SageTV's logging to see if it has a reason for the service not starting?
What version of Java do you have installed? You might want to uninstall and reinstall your Java.

OK, I just had a look into the system logs.
What I get is Quote:
I did a quick search on the forums and found some posts, but they are either rather old and refer to an old beta or there is no solution posted. Ideas? Oliver

What about turning the UAC all the way down and see if that resolves it?

Thanks for all your suggestions.
I will downgrade to Windows XP as my fan has gone wild and some other things don't work properly. Seems Win7 does not really like my 5 years old hardware. Have to buy new hardware some time soon
