Questions\Problem: MovieWall, TV Exployer and BMI

I have been working lately with trying to get the TV and Movie Metadata working consistently across SageTV, XBMC and Boxee. I have learned quite a bit in the process. Although nothing is perfect I have worked out naming conventions that seem to work well for Movies and TV shows across all three. The Music Library is maintained by iTunes and seems to work well without additional maintenance. (all music is m4a)

My primary question is about how to best manage imported TV series in SageTV. These will typically be DVD rips with multiple episodes or if I will keep it in the library I will make each episode a separate file.
Example:
The Civil War - S1E8 - War is All Hell.avi
The War - S1E3 - When Things Get Tough.avi
Band of Brothers – S1E1-2 (Note DVD rip Folder)

I have discovered by accident that some files that get flagged as TV shows and will show up in TV Explorer just like any other show. They are not recognized as TV shows by SageTV just TV Explorer and MovieWall. I like having them in TV Explorer as opposed to MovieWall since each episode is grouped together. In MovieWall they are all separate but there is an option to not show TV shows which filters them out.

I am using Batch Metadata Importer BMI 3.1 to lookup show info and FanArt. I don't run this automatically because it is not always perfect and I don't add enough to the Library that using it manually is a problem. BMI just runs on the SageTV Client right now.

How do I flag an imported file as a TV show so it will show up in TV Explorer as as a show. At some point I was able to import the above examples so they work as desired but I have some that I can't seem to get to work. I can find them in BMI but I end up with no description, Fan Art etc. I know they are on imdb.com and theTVdb.com as xbmc will find and group them correctly.
Examples not working: (These are downloads for missed recording F..ing Duke and Carolina games)
NUMB3RS – S6E15.avi
CSI Miami – S8E15.avi
BMI does not create a properties file after the look up.

I suspect I have changed something since getting it to work but I don't know what. I have changed the order of preferred providers in BMI but have not found anything that works.


Note: I have tried using the Web Server to import these into Sage as TV shows but it seems to want to rename them which I really don't like and they will also no longer import into Boxee or XBMC.

Also:
DVD rips only list the first Episode on the disk. Is there a way to list all Episodes on the disk some how?
Would be Nice if SageTV reconized them as TV shows as well.

Can you filter by Category(Genre) and return only what is in the Library. I always seem to get a bunch of stuff that I think is in the EPG feed.

To get stuff in TVE explorer BMT must set the flag of mediatype=tv.

As for genres yes on the homescreen there is a category button that will show you the categories clicking on one catagory will take you too that category. Or there is a shortcut button (it is search or guide can't quite remember)

inside SMW you can also go into the wall itself, and go through the setup screens. There is the option to include or exclude TV.

I, like you don't want my TV Series to show up in SMW, just my Blu-Rays and DVD's...
