Does SageTV support the AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR MTVHDDVRR PCI-Express x1 card?

Does SageTV support the AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR MTVHDDVRR PCI-Express x1 card?

The AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR records HD in mpeg2 or h.264, has HDMI, component, and S-video inputs and plugs into a PCI-e x1 slot. The card is pretty cheap, $89.99. It was mixed reviews on Newegg, but isn't listed in the SageTV supported cards.

Has anyone tried using this card? If it is reliable, it might be an alternative to the HD-PVR for recording HD content. The reviews are really all over the place.

From an older conversation here & its specs, it is a software encoder.

Aver Media MTVHDDVRR?

I have made a search in the forum to find out if there was any mention of the AverMedia MTVHDDVRR capture card.

There's nothing.

Anyone knows if this card is supported or would work with SageTV? It is NOT on the list in the supported card - but the list may be outdated... I hope.

This is a card that has an HDMI input as well as Component input. Meaning you could use for HiDef recording. Right now, I use the S-video out of my HD satellite box -what a waste.

I'd love to be able to use that card if it would work.

Here is a link for more details on it.

If anyone knows - please share info/experience!

Thanks!

Wink AverMedia has an HDMI capture card

http://www.avermedia-usa.com/AVerTV/...tab=UserManual

It looks good but appears to only support sterio audio.

This would be a nice replacement for the HD PVR since it would replace an external box.

No hardware compressions and it respects the HDMI DRM. Files would be huge even when it worked. Also: I believe it only supports their crappy software.

This one has potential to replace the HD-PVR
