Skipping forward/back causes video to stop

Hello.
I recently upgraded to recording HD via firewire (Comcast DCH3200). The quality looks great, just like it does when watching TV via the STB via HDMI.


The problem I'm having is whenever I skip forward or back the video fully stops, it gives the "Resume/Delete/Set Watched" type screen.

If I don't hit any of the skip/search buttons it plays through, but I have to sit through commercials.

The wierd thing is this happens on both my server, 6.6.2.218, and my HD200 Theater.

I assume the HD Theater uses it's own codecs and stuff to play everything, not just going through the server.

I am unable to play the mpg files in WM but if I play it in VLC I can manually search by clicking the bar at the bottom.

If it matters on the server my mpg2 decoder says "Nvidia Video Decoder (nvviddec.ax) ver 4020.185.0.0" if I use the "Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility". If I run "dvdupgrd /detect" I get "stvmcdsmpeg.ax" Company: MainConcept AG Ver 1.0.0.65.

FYI: Also my old recordings I had prior to these changes still skip/search fine. I was thinking maybe some things I did to fix other issues caused this (reinstalling codecs, graphedit, etc).

I just found that if I skip in VLC using the keyboard shortcuts (alt-left arrow for example) it doesn't work. It shows 10sec in the upper right but never does the skip.

I did notice that in Sage and VLC the videos show a length of 00:00. I assume this is why the skipping isn't working.

Any tips on how to get this fixed with firewire recording?
