My Movies - ISO or folder?

I'm new to SageTV and am starting to look at My Movies for WHS. I have two requirements:

1. I want to back up my DVDs to my server, using ISO files
2. I use a SageTV HD Theatre extender (running in client mode) - I want to be able to watch ripped DVDs which need to be in VIDEO_TS format for this setup (I think?).

I'm planning on doing full ISO rips for backup purposes and to access special features on the DVDs on my laptop, but then also doing minimal (ie feature only) VIDEO_TS rips of the movies for viewing on the HD Theatre.

I was hoping to use MyMovies to manage access to it all (especially once the MyMovies for SageTV plugin is operational) - but am I asking too much of this system?

Any suggestions on what will work and what won't?

Would I be best off to just do the backup ISO rips separately (ie outside of My Movies) and only manage the stuff I actually intend to view via the HD Theatre using My Movies?

First why is ISO rips mandatory?

If it is mandatory I would do the later of your suggestions.
