Ok, so I got it sort of working. I did a fresh install of Sage (not WHS edition) and did a scan (found 0 channels). Then I applied the dshow_tv_type mod and scanned again. It found 91 new channesl and they were tunable.
I then returned my whs to it's closet and did a remote desktop into it to setup the second tuner. When I ran the setup wizard, only my pvr-500 was there. The second tuner on the duet had disappeared.

What is the dshow_tv_type mod? Setting it to QAM? I get an error when I do that.
