Hdhomerun not found

After working all afternoon yesterday and last night getting sage installed and running I thought I had this working. I am new user to sage. I decided yesterday to make the move to sage. So I uninstalled all of my other pvr software. Installed sagetv. To start off with it found my 2 internall fusion cards but would not see the silicone dust hdhomerun tuners, I downloaded the latest drivers and it still cannot find them. Now I can go into the homerum software and see both tuners and watch video on them. I know these are working as I had no problem in my other pvr software and I also downloaded the trial version of sage and put it on my laptop to experiment with and I used the latest software and had no problems. Finally last night I rolled back to my old drivers and low and behold it found them and everything seamed to be working fine. This mourning I go in and check things out and find a message box saying there is an update to the homerun. So I decided to go ahead and let it install it. Well I am back to square one and no homerun tuners are listed. I have seached a lot in the forums here but have not found anything. Does anyone have an answer as to why with the new drivers they can't be found?
Thanks
Wayne

After updating the drivers did you rescan all your channels on both tuners within Sage?

After the driver updates, is the HDHomerun still listed as a Sage Tuner or is it some how rolling back to your previous PVR software?

Yesterday Sage never did see the tuners untill I dropped back to my old drivers.
Sage does not see the tuners, In other words they are not listed in the add new source window for me to do anything with. I have selected sage in the application drop down box and have closed sage out and resterted sage and my pc multiple times.

Look in your sage.properties to make sure they haven't ended up in the line of mmc/ignore_encoders=
If they have remove them from that line.

So you upgraded to the 20100121 drivers and after doing the update Sage doesn't see any hdhr tuners at all? Did you shut down Sage and the service before performing the driver upgrade? They should show up in both the add a source and the already configured sources. Is this running on Vista or Win 7 and you have UAC enabled? You may need to find the virtual store folder and copy everything insode the SageTV folder to your SageTV install folder. It may be updating the virtual but not the install. See the FAQ regarding the virtual store and what it is.

If you're running XP, the FAQ for UAC won't do anything for you. It sounds like either your old software is still around somewhere grabbing the HDHomeRun's, or the drivers for the HDHomeRun aren't properly presenting them as BDA devices. I'd recommend uninsalling the HDHomeRun software completely, the download the newest install from the SiliconDust site. Install it with SageTV closed (and service stopped, if installed).

Thanks for your reply, Uninstalled the software, Rebooted, even ran norton win doctor, Rebooted again, installed fresh downloaded silicone dust software, scanned all of the channels on both tuners, and played there video, they appear to be working fine, Started sage and went to add source and still no homerun tuners listed.
Is there a tuner limit? As I have 2 fusion pci cards in the machine and 2 HD-pvr tuners hooked up and I can see all 4 of these in the source window.

There's no limit on tuners (I have 10, 3 x HDHR and 4 x HD-PVR). In the configuration software for the HDHR there's a setting telling it which software it is to be used by. Have you configured it to point to Sage? I just checked and it's on the Application tab (the second tab) of the setup program. It is the Main Application setting.

Yes I have it pointing to sage. I also uninstalled sage and reinstalled it and still no tuners. I really didnt want to do a fresh install of windows, But I am thinking that is what it is going to take at this point

Have you tried posting in the HDHR forums? It seems like such an unusual problem...

No I have not. I am thinking something from BYTV is holding it, So I think I will start after awhile doing a fresh install.

Hey all
I got it working. After wrems made the suggestion to goto the homerun website, I went there and done some searching and came accros a post about hitting the repair button in the setup page under the advance tab and low and behold I can know see and program my hdhomerun tuners. All looks good right now, Thanks for all of the help

Strange... I figured reinstalling would take care of any repair actions. But at least it's working.

BeyondTV has a bad habit of removing some important BDA components when uninstalled. The Repair button was added to HDHomeRun Setup to fix the damage.
