One video that won't output sound...
Hello. I'm having a problem with one particular video file that will not output any sound when played back through sagetv. I've verified that with media player classic, the file has sound, but just nothing with sage. I pulled up the ac3filter window while the video was playing in sage, and all of the green bars were moving indicating that sound was being mixed properly. I am just clueless when it comes to troubleshooting codec/filter/rendering issues. If anyone could help me enter into a troubleshooting mode, I would love to learn.
Thanks!

It looks to me that something is tying up the Digital output on the sound card. (As demonstrated by the SPDIF Status listed as 'Disabled (Disallowed)'. What is your speaker config (analog computer speakers, digital to a receiver, etc).

I had this problem with one video. I ran it through mkvmerge and that fixed it.

******************************************** We found out that the problem was that the sample rate for ac3filter didn't match the compatible sample rates of our sound card. I took some screen capture shots to better illustrate. In the first picture you see that our sound card only supports a sample rate of 48.0kHz, but the ac3filter "Rate" was set to "AS IS." So if the movie was recorded using a sample rate of anything but 48.0kHz, the sound won't work. For the video(s) that we had problems with, the sampling rate was 44.1k, thus no audio! We changed the "Rate" in the ac3filter settings to match the compatible sample rate of our sound card (from "AS IS" to "48000"). Once this was completed, we had sound.
