QuickStart?

Trying to improve the WAF guys. She's complaining that it takes to long to tune into the AM news while she gets ready for work. Is there any way to have Sage start on a certain channel whenever an extender is turned on and maybe disable the menu?

Are you willing to get your hands dirty in studio? If so i think you could do something in on of the menuload hooks for the main menu (not sure if it should beforemenuload or aftermenuload) to tune a channel and go directly to it....

if your using sagemc or dynamic menus for the default stv you might be able to add a menu item that does this too (no studio programming)... although i haven't tried this........

One option is you could set-up a Favorite for the Morning News, so it records every day.

If you also install the Dynamic Menus add-on, it displays the next upcoming recording (or the currently recording show) at the bottom of the main menu. If you click on it, it takes you to that show, so she could start watching immediately with one click.

Not perfect, but simple and maybe a little better than what she's doing now?

thanks guys, Studio is not something I can invest the time into right now, but the idea of setting up a news recording may work...will test it tomorrow.

You might also look into the Today import.. it seems to be designed just for this scenario (wife getting ready in the morning). It's for SageMC only, but I won't hold that against it until something similar is available for the Default STV. ;-)
