HD PVR Driver Date

I'm using 1.5.6.1 on my Win 7. The release date on the website was Nov 24 and I think I remember when that came out. But when I look under driver properties under windows, it says 5/1/09. I have one (out of 3) HD PVR which I'm going to RMA b/c it keeps locking up (tried all the suggestions about keeping it cool on it's side, changing the usb ports, etc) but I'm wondering if this date issue is an indication of some problem with my drivers. I assume not, but figured I'd ask.

I had an open RMA, switched to hdpvr1.0.5.301_whql.zip worked wonders with stability for about a month and the it started locking up again. (But I think one of my units was having a heat issues.) So without a doubt try that driver first. Here is a link: Older HD PVR drivers

Same here. I had the latest and greates drivers installed for my HD PVR and I could not get a single recording completed without getting the HD PVR Stop Producing Data error. My HD-PVR is the E1 model. I am running Win XP Pro, 32bit.

I downgraded to the 1.0.5.301_whql driver and it is now ~98% stable. I say 98% of my recordings complete without problems. I still have some issues when recording at 1080i and it only happens if there are too many things going on with SageTV while recording at 1080i.

I do have a question however:

EDIT: NEVER mind with this: What is the difference between the 1.0.5.301 and 1.0.5.301_whql drivers and which is for what OS?

There is only 1.0.5.301,

1.5.0.301 does not exist...

My Bad. I thought there were two.

Yes, there is only one "hdpvr1.0.5.301_whql.zip" listed there.
