Can't load Sage after SageMC install
I am running the latest SAGE on my WHS server. No plugins. Latest JAVA 1.6. I am trying to install SageMC, but when I try to open Sage via WHS Connector Console or via Remote Desktop the splash screen hangs at user interface initialization. Everything is back to normal when I remove the SageMC files.

Null Pointer Exception could be many things. I would really verify you are following the instructions properly. Have you ever installed SageMC before?

Turned off service.
Backed up entire SageTV folder. Deleted JARs and STVs from Program Files/SageTV/SageTV. Inserted the entire unzipped contents (5 folders and 11 files) into Program Files/SageTV/SageTV, except for the sagemc_java_15_jars.zip file. When I undo, Sage works fine, otherwise I get stuck on the user interface message on the Sage splash screen. I even redownloaded sagemc_r_3_9a_full.zip

Did you LOAD or IMPORT the SageMC_169.xml file?

No it is not, you are not supposed to delete anything. Follow the installation instructions here.
I would: First, make sure you have the latest default STV. Second, Install the SageMC 6.3.9a release using instructions above. Lastly (optional), Update to the latest development build.
