Loaded SageMC, now Extender won't load

Maybe I'm doing something very stupid, but all I did was extract the SageMC theme to my SageTV installation on my Server. Then I loaded it with remote desktop on my server. All fine.

Then, I went to my media extender and it was still using the original Sage theme. So, I repeated the process, and went to load the .xml file for sageMC, and now, the message is
"Failed to load SageMe...
Fall back to standard..."

Not sure what that means. I only have a black screen but I can watch live TV. I can navigate some of the menu, but it won't load the popup to get to the STV section. Is there a permission issue or something that it can load the files I need?

First time user with the system, I appreciate any help.

Try a reset of the HDME.

Power to Off/Sleep. Press Home on your remote ... and wait a few seconds.
Connect to server.

I've done that several times. I get only a black and white screen, and I can kinda navigate, but no popups, so I can't put it back. I tried deleting the extender's properties in the SageTV\clients folder, but it's recreated. I may edit that file and put it back to the original, but why wouldn't SageMC work properly? It works on my server.

not sure ... get latest firmware. Be sure your server has the latest Java updates.

I'm able to get it back to the Standard SageTV interface, but everytime I load the SageMC, I get a black and white only screen and it's difficult to navigate. I thought this was fully supported on the HD Media Extender...

you may want to delete the properties file under the client directory for the extender and restart the unit to rebuild it....

Are you running SageTV in service mode? If so, did you make sure to stop the service and exit SageTV on the server before extracting the SageMC package? Are you sure you used the SageMC full installation package, and not the latest dev build?

I am running SageTV in Service mode. I redid everything after stopping the service and I re-installed the package 6.3.6b_full. Low and behold, everything worked...
