This was brought up before. That picture, and a related link are from 2004.

I'm looking for a hands on report from someone at CES who can schedule a meetup with SageTV. Photos and/or video preferred.

If anyone can assist me with this send me a DM. Thanks!

Is it confirmed that SageTV will be there?

Also, Ceton was mentioned. I see press releases about their big CES announcement, but they're not in the exhibitor list. Anybody know where they'll be at CES? Also, anybody know any more about Sage at CES?

Ceton is definitely there. Not sure of location.

SageTV is in Vegas, but not on the CES floor. My understanding is they are available by appointment only.
UPDATE: Not sure SageTV will have anything to show off at CES after all. Doesn't mean there isn't something new coming, just means nothing at CES unfortunately.

Wow. I was hoping for some SageTV 7.0 previews. C'mon, SageTV, don't let Win7 Media Center off so easily. Step up and challenge their new features/products with something of your own!

Maybe they have moved their resources and efforts in a different direciton.

That's unfortunate. My HTPC has been stable for way to long

Keep in mind they had never really intended to do a full-blown CES show kind of thing. If I find anything out that I can share I'll definitely do it. Don't take this as too much of a negative - just a timing thing

I'm not troubled by this at all. Admittedly, I was expecting some sort of announcement because of the amount of time since the last software update, but I don't think this is any cause for concern. The only feature I'm really looking for from Sage (besides CableCard support, which would be nice) is a new UI. And, as I was saying in a different thread, I don't really think CES is a great place to demo a new UI. I can't imagine it would be terribly impressive, so it would just get lost in the noise of all the other announcements.

It might be better that they have a limited presence. I doubt they'd get a lot of traffic in their hotel room (or wherever they are in Vegas), so hopefully they're getting out and meeting with other CE and software companies.

I know of someone meeting with them this week. Just not sure how much info will come out of it at this point.

Haha, well the SageTV "info" is up, and apparently there wasn't any info to be had this year. Sounds like Narflex is just trying to write off a Vegas vacation as a buisness expense

How does he call that a "Sage TV Update"? More like a tease.

The only CES SageTV I see from that article is this interesting piece: "...version 7 of SageTV which features an all-new 3D UI. But we’re going to have to wait a bit longer." 3D eh????

Some news from CES & SageTV:

http://www.zatznotfunny.com/2010-01/...agetv-updates/

"I was hopeful of getting a sneak peak at version 7 of SageTV which features an all-new 3D UI. But we’re going to have to wait a bit longer."

I'd say that is a pretty big tease and perhaps they let the cat out of the bag! Sounds good and I'll waiting with baited breath for news on the new GUI.

Yep, Dave Zatz is the one I knew was meeting up with Jeff & Mike.

Not as much information as I had originally hoped for but as Dave said, "timing."

I'm excited still. We now are sure SageTV7 is in the works and we should be getting a beta with good stuff.

And an update to the UI - I know Zatz said 3D, but I'm not expecting 3D glasses are required or anything like that . That will likely make some of the SageTV faithful nervous & others happy, but I trust the flexibility of SageTV will keep all of us happy one way or another.
