Tivo IR-Blaster dongle

So I got the special HVR-950q device from the slickdeals link. It comes with a special USB IR-Blaster/receiver dongle. Got the drivers installed, but not sure if/how to get Sage to recognize it.

I haven't code much on windows for awhile (never drivers), but if it requires some, I'm willing to give it a try, but not sure how to start. Now that the device is installed, is there a way to determine the interface to it? Do I need to load up the Tivo DLL or something?

Maybe I can run some sort of interceptor sw/hw while Tivo is sending commands to the USB device. I know thats how 'they' cracked the BlueRay encryption.

Any thoughts/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Found somebody trying to write a linux driver for it, but it looks like input only, not for the blaster..

But, he mentions that the device is listed in Windows as a Keyboard.. Seems odd, since the blaster would be an output.. but I guess keyboards need input for changing keyboard status lights?
