List of PlayOn Plug-ins?
Is there a documented list of playon plug-ins that is centrally located somewhere?
I'm especially interested in FOX, USA, TNT, A&E, Lifetime, Discovery, TLC and the Food Network. Do these exist and if not can they be created? Thanks, Greg |

http://www.playonplugins.com
http://www.playonscripts.com I've read on the plugins forum that some of those you're looking for have their videos hosted by brightcove, and apparently only one person on the playonplugins forum has cracked their code so to speak, but hasn't released anything with it done yet. I think he had posted that he might make the plugin a pay-model (a pay-per-view type thing, or pay-once type thing, can't remember). If he goes for the pay-once model, I'll probably get it, but not a PPV type thing...

If that is indeed the case, there is no list anywhere as of now. It would not be too hard to accumulate if you counted "hulu" as one; but if you try to list everything that the hulu access gets you, it would be pretty long. And, of course, some hulu content is duplicated in "direct" Sage access (i.e., Fox network shows are available in the Online Services browser, and also available inside of the Hulu link). The other difficulty is that you can browse through the original thread by EP and see several plugins that people have added to the services, but some of them are currently not working (due to upcoming changes on the PlayOn side, not due to any fault of the Sage customization authors). So it's hard to put together an accurate list.

I could go to the TNT site (like The Closer) and watch it from there, but I would like to be able to sit on my couch with the remote and pull it up. Just so you know, I'm not a Sage user yet. I'm doing my research and pretty much have made up my mind to get SageTV. My first project will be a dedicated computer (media server). Currently researching that right now. Thanks, Greg |

That's what I was guessing. I'm a "dropped cable" person myself. I'm not at home to type out a list, but you could try this: download the original Online Services/PlayOn plugin (hopefully it's still available from the first post in the plugin thread here, since some of it is now part of the stock STV), extract the files to some temp folder, and look at the custom online properties files (which end with ".properties"). These files open in Notepad as a text file. In those files, you can see all the various sources (should be listed at the top) and then the programs within each source listed in lengthy data below. There will be one program per line, basically. What you should be able to find will be the base programming that is available, before you add any of the PlayOn scripts additions and such. Then you can look through the same thread and see some of the additions that various people have made for other channels and programs. Also, check robogeek's separate thread (fairly recent) with an excellent dynamic feed scraper and some re-written scripts. These are all fairly easy to add as well. On a side note, if you have pretty good OTA reception where you live and can get the cable content you "need" via this online services plugin, and you use HD extenders for your TV viewing, you should have a fairly easy time with Sage. I'm pretty much a computer novice compared to most people here, but because I don't have to deal with a lot of the "buggier" aspects (setting up HD-PVRs with cable boxes, IR blasters, etc., etc.), I've found Sage to be very simple and almost plug-and-play. You can see my specs below in my sig. And the customization plugins are almost all the same way, depending what you choose.
