Display shrinks on 720p plasma via Denon 3310 over HDMI

I recently added a Denon 3310 as my receiver, and am routing the HDMI output from my Sage box through the Denon. Before this, the HTPC was directly driving the Pioneer 720p Plasma - and working perfectly for the last 3+ years.

With the Denon in between, everything start out fine when I start the Sage client - its full screen. But if I switch off the TV and back on, the Sage display size shrinks to 2/3 of the screen (top left), but continues to behave as if its in full screen mode. All other applications are running genuine full screen in the background - if I do alt-shift, I can see explorer etc running fine.

I am outputting 720p signal on DVI out from the HTPC (w/ Nvidia 8600), and connecting to the Denon via a DVI-HDMI cable. The Denon is setup to output at 720p too.

Any advice on how can I fix this?

I have had a similar issue but it only happens when the PC wakes from sleep. I just make sure I have the TV before I wake up the PC. There seems to be a 2-way communication that gets messed up. No sure that will help you much.

If you have a digital out on you TV you can use it instead an go back to the old way that worked.

I have the same problem since moving to Windows 7 64 and now using HDMI vs DVI to a plasma. I have to exit and reload SageTV everytime to get back to a full screen. It is a pain and has wife support at a very low level right now.

I'm running nvida Geforce 9400GT video on a client PC.

Has anyone found a fix for this?

Not exactly a fix, but I was having a similar problem and found a workaround that eliminated it.

Take a look at the bottom of this thread on AVS Forum: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...php?t=1204284&
