Hauppauge Tuner Card/Webcam/Skype Conflict

I recently installed a Logitech webcam to use with Skype. When I launched Skype the first time, my Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 card was listed as the default video source. I switched it to the Logitech camera and Skype worked fine. However, after 2 Sage recordings came out completely black, I determined that changing the video source in Skype also changed the source for my Sage recordings. After going through setup in Sage to change the source back to the PVR card, Sage recordings were fine. But then when I launched the Logitech webcam software, it was displaying the live TV feed from the PVR card. All of these changes are repeatable.

Can anyone direct me how to select the video sources for Skype and Sage independently? I searched the forums, but did not find any similar problems mentioned.

I'm running SageTV 6.3.5 on Windows XP and I only have the one tuner.

Thanks. Kevin

You might want to try looking in the sage.properties file and for the line mmc/ignore_encoders=
Find the actual name that Sage uses for your webcam and copy it to the ignore line. (Make sure to delete it from the encoder line where you found it.)That may help.

Thanks, Gerry. I looked at the settings and they were the same regardless of whether Sage was recording from the tuner card or the webcam. Here is a snip from sage.properties

mmc/encoders/1642691032/video_capture_device_name=Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture
mmc/encoders/1642691032/video_capture_device_num=0
mmc/encoders/1642691032/video_encoding_params=Great
mmc/encoders/1642691032/video_processor=
mmc/feature_mask_disable=0
mmc/ignore_encoders=Logitech Mic (Fusion)|NVIDIA DualTV YUV Capture|SoundMAX Digital Audio|Logitech QuickCam Fusion|NVIDIA DualTV YUV Capture 2|
mmc/last_encoder_name=Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture
