Sage usb uirt not working
I've got an HDPVR set up to change channels via USB UIRT. Worked flawlesly for a long time.
A few months ago I was missing some shows. Wrong recording. When manually changing channels, sometimes it would switch. Now that the new shows are on this is a problem. I removed source. Removed USB UIRT drivers, reinstalled and added source. Some weird issues programming the codes. One time sage asked me to release the button when none where pressed. Test infared seems to trigger the appropriate code and the lights on the usb uirt flash. But when going to guide and selecting a channel, no lights flash. I tested the usbuirt on another computer with fresh driver install and the ir helper app. Ir helper app on the sage system tested fine as well. Sage just won't trigger the channel changes. I tried a sage repair install as well. Any ideas?

Try removing the tuner from the SageTV configuration, then add the turner back.
You might try reconstructing your IR file using LrnHelper for each digit. The 'repeatcount' value might need to be tweaked. You should be seeing the IR emitter light up as each digit is sent. Maybe you need to replace the IR emitter if it is not lighting up. Dave |

Tuner has been removed and added several times. I looked at codes learned by lrnhelper compared to my xx.ir file for the tuner. Same. From within ir helper or sage's test infared code I get the usbuirt to emit fine. When actually changing channels I get nothing. Tried uninstall/install of sage. Weird that after the uninstall, I clicked on the sage icon by mistake (instead of the .exe) and sage started? Recently when re-adding the channel lineups I get a long please wait? Gonna try using a bogus line up. Might try with stock/blank sage.properties. Any other ideas?

I tried changing to one of the stock .ir files. The emitter works. I noticed that my file did not have an "ir repeat factor" line at the top. I added it back and I think I'm closer...
What is ir repeat factor? Why didn't sage add this if it's a necessary parameter? I noticed that using sage screen to change ir options, that ir repeat factor does not change in the .ir file? Something is weird... Edit: Also found out there is usb ir repeat factor in the sage properties file. Mine is set to 10? But it's 5 in the .ir file. Which has priority?

What type of set top box are you using? Can you post your IR file? I not familiar with MCE, but you may need to disable any services in MCE that might conflict with SageTV.
When I setup an IR file, I use the LrnHelper program to learn each digit, one by one, with the set top box remote about 2 inches from the USB-UIRT. I then use the transmit feature of the LrnHelper program to test each digit with the USB-UIRT pointed at a set top box. The set top box is connected to a TV. I can see the channel numbers display on the TV screen without delay when I transmit them with LrnHelper, such as channel 111, 222, etc. SageTV is not involved with the test at all. After I determine the codes for each digit, one at a time, I each line into an IR file. Dave |

I've found sage's learning to be pretty accurate. But I tried it both ways. I ended up backing up/restoring my wiz.bin and then uninstalling sage, deleting sage directory, reinstalling sage, copy wiz.bin back in, then setting up all the sources and channel lineups....tired.
My sage setup has been going on for about 4-5 years! There was a lot of stuff leftover in there. Don't know what the problem was, but I'm getting good changes now.

You should create a disk image of your system, so you can recover back to a working system quickly, in case it breaks again. If you don't have imaging software, you could use PING, which is free. If you have WHS, then there might not be an imaging solution.
