Looking for help from HDHR users (espcially people w/FIOS)

This doesn't have anything to do with SageTV, but i'm working on a few posts for Brent's blog, GeekTonic, and I need to collect some data from as many Cable/FIOS networks as I can.

So if you've got an HDHR and a little free time, I wrote a tool for doing something of an advanced channel scan for capturing bandwidth allocation/mpeg bitrate statistics on a cable network.

Here's the download link. All you need to do is extract the tool into...
Code:
C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun
Open up a command prompt and run it using a free tuner...
Code:
Usage : channelScan.exe <HDHR ID> <Tuner Number (0|1)>
Example: channelScan.exe 10157F5F 1
I recommend starting it right before you go to bed because it'll take about 2-3 hours and require a free tuner the entire time.

Once its finished its it'll output a .csv that you can rename to .txt and post on this thread along with your Network/Location information. Then i'll try and pull them all together into a spread sheet and hopefully pull out some interesting data.

I just started a scan for Time Warner Cable, Maui HI. I'll attach the file to this post in the morning. BTW, they changed a bunch of channels out here to SDV. I don't know how that will affect things.

Aloha,
Mike

Here is a scan for the greater Binghamton NY area, granted Time Warner has been aggressively pushing SDV, so ther are most likely more channels than this, just not accessible by the HDHR.

Wow, thanks for the help everyone, some great data here! The most interesting thing by far is Fios vs. Comcast Portland which has already cut off their analog channels.

I too am in the Binghamton area. Did you ever get anything back on the HDHR channel scan for the Sage Forum? I've been trying to figure out what to enter in the Guide name field so I can get sage to show me Program Guide info for my OTA vs TWC digital channels. All I see is for the cable channels is the channel# like 87-1/DTV-01.

Any help wojudl be appreciated.
DJ

I have attached a screen capture of my HDHomerun Setup channel page.

Most of the SD channels that show up, I did not bother with. After doing this scan, and edit a scan within Sage should map everything to the correct channels.

Thanks a lot Ender,
I got 700 to show up in my Sage lineup, but when I try to watch it (Sage Live TV) I get "no signal". And the other 7xx stations don't appear in the Sage lineup at all. What am I doing wrong? I did a full HDHR scan on the cable-input. I ran a Sage re-scan too.

ADDENDUM: I can watch 700 on the HDHR QuickTV, but on Sage I get the "no signal".

SageTV tuning

I finally got the correct names as used by Zap2it and got my HDHomerun configuration loaded into SageTV. I am now picking up all the HD and QAM stations as well as over-the-air stations. I am using a $10 antenna and the HDHomerun folks told me that in my area, an amplified one would not help.
