simultaneous HDMI and spdif audio streams
just finished building a new HTPC based around the Gigabyte GA-MA785GPMT motherboard.
Problem: can't seem to get simultaneous audio from HDMI and spdif. My previous build, a cheap MSI board, allowed simultaneous analog and spdif. This board, drivers, chipset (unsure which) doesn't seem to allow simultaneous audio from ANY two outputs (HDMI, analog or spdif). Does anyone know if this is a chip/motherboard restriction, or is it possible I'm not using the correct combo of drivers and decoders. Note: the HD200 allows simultaneous HDMI and optical spdif 5.1 streams, so I can't imagine why a multi-layered motherboard chipset wouldn't. otherwise, this is a great little motherboard for HTPC - no real hiccups with the onboard Radeon 4200 for 1080 video as of yet. Would adding a third-party video card (Sapphire 4550 for eg), which has an HDMI out, allow for another simultaneous audio stream? Last edited by tvmaster2; 10-26-2009 at 12:12 PM.
