Decoders to use with Sage? Jerky video
Currently I am using the Microsoft mpeg2 and the Arcsoft decoders that came with my HD-PVR.
I notice some jerky playback and would like to find out what to do to fix it. I have been reading and alot of people say that the 264 drivers inside of PowerDVD seem to work pretty smooth. Today, I went and bought Powerdvd v9 ultra. After installing, I don't see any options for a 264 decoder in Sage to choose from only what looks like the mpeg2 driver. Can anyone tell me how to install the h264 decoder for this? I seem to get real unstable video. my system consists of the following HDPVR HD3200 Asus Mb M2a378-em with HDMI output 1 tb hitachi 7200 drive Sage portion formatted 64k block running current sage 6.6.2.218 and 1.5.6 drivers on PVR with current native patch from beta section I have been struggling with what codecs to use and I get jerky playback no matter what I try. I do have alot of issues with my HD-PVR having to reset it all the time, I wonder if that's what's causing my issues. I can't rely on Sage to record anything for me because of the problems with the PVR it seems that it always fails in the middle of a movie. All my drivers are current with MB, video card, java, directx If anyone can suggest something for me I sure would appreciate it. RJ |

Is the playback Ok in the TME software? Is it just Sage or both that have poor playback?
You should be able to get good playback with the TME software and codecs. Just need to figure out what your problem is. |

If you are using win7, I'd suggest using the built-in microsoft decoder (Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder). I think it requires installing the 'Native Recording Patch' from the beta forum to get going, but it is VERY good.
