Problem with system clock and sagetv

Hello. I noticed that over the last few days, I'm missing minutes off of the beginning of recordings...this is being caused by my system clock falling behind at an alarming rate. I would re-update the clock via internet time, and the next day, it would be 3+ minutes out. I've had a problem with Sage lately because of a mistake on my part installing a Java update. Since that started at the same time, I assume that the "Sync time with SageTV server" might be causing some problems.

I just fixed it today by an uninstall, wipe of the SageTV directory, then a reinstall (yes, that was necessary, as my attempt to follow the recommended method in the Sticky didn't work). Before and after fixing the Java problem, I've been unable to disable the time-sync setting. I click the button, but nothing happens. I've tried it on 6.6.2 and again with all STV updates.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what could be causing me to not be able to disable the setting?

You can change the setting manually in the sage.properties file in the SageTV program directory. Just shut down SageTV or SageTV Service if running as a service, open the sage.properties file with Windows Notepad, and change this line:

sync_system_clock=true

to:

sync_system_clock=false

Then restart SageTV. If the setting reverts back or if SageTV still seems to be syncing your clock with the SageTV server, then you should file an official bug report.

I am not sure if this is relevant, but I notice that the Sage time server lags behind BOTH my satellite and cable company by at least 25 seconds. Is that normal, or worthy of a bug report also?
