cablecards
i have a mod r5000 not perfect but close....no drm stuff like microsofts media center cablecards... i think the next hdhomerun network encoder may be a thought. but i recommend staying far away from mce. i have a ati cablecard tuner and it works but file only play on your pc my r5000 recording i can do anything with them

I also love my R-5000's, simply because they give me the ability to record the directly broadcast stream (like cablecard), and can be used with sage. You can't beat the 5Mbps H.264 that dish network sends out for efficient use of storage.
