WinHS headaches

Been having a access issue and comskip doesn't work for quite sometime with WHS and Sage.

I currently have sage installed outside of the drive pool on my F drive. I did not install it through the console. So last night I attempted to uninstall sage from the F: drive and install it through the console. After re-installing it I couldn't connect to sagetv, I had moved any of the files or attempted to wiz.bin move. Sage just stalled out and I couldn't connect.

its kinda frustrating but I believe my sharing issues are a result of sagetv not being installed through the console, so what is the best way to uninstall re-install sage?

Save your wiz.bin. Uninstall Sage thru the Control Panel like aby other app. Delete the Sage directory on F:. I would reboot to be on the safe side.
Sage is an add-in for WHS so you need to put the .msi file in the \\WHS\Software\add-in directory. Bring up the WHS console and go to settings-add-ins. Go to the Available tab and click install. The .msi will run and WHS console will have to close. Start the console again to make sure the add-in is installed and check the Sage TV Service tab to make sure it is running. There's no reason not to install Sage on your C drive. You still have plenty of room available.

If you have sharing issues it probalay doesn't have anything to do with the install. All sharing and shared folders are done through the console-no where else. That's also where you create user accounts. Create the same user name that you are using to log in on any other PCs and give those user accounts access to the shared folders they need to get to. Every PC you have uses a user account to start the PC. They will need to exist on your WHS also.

Ripped DVD's? Where are you putting theMm? In the default Videos shared folder? Were they originally ripped to the WHS or were they copied from somewhere else? If they were copied from another machine you may need to take ownship of the files/folders to stop the sharing errors.

I will double check where they were ripped at but I believe most of them were done through WHS. The files are ripped with anydvd and I moved them to a folder called movies that all accounts have full permision too. MCE can play the ripped files without any issues but sagetv pukes when it trys to play them.
