Genres gone fishing??
Have had my system stable for quite some time now until the other day.
The living room tv (the one the wife uses for the kids) all of a sudden lost all genres. I put off looking into it as all movies can be found under the general tab. Well 2 days ago this happened to my home theater system too. Now that its effecting me, it is peeking my interest. I use DVDProfiler to import all of my metadata and has worked flawlessly till now. Is there a way to reset it and see if that fixes it, or does anyone have any other ideas that would help fix it? I did a search, but found nothing similar or current, thanks. |

SMW works for genres or categories if you are using it. |

Is there any documentation on how to configure the mdt web app in regards of DVD Profile or just in general?

first post of the bmt thread as a link to install/config instructions for bmt... I am not sure if they have been updated for v3 and the web ui though... the webui is very helpful and there are lots of "?" icons with popup help on what the various options do.
DVD profiler specific info: On the configuration page there is a page of dvd profiler info (Metadata Tools -> DVD Profiler) you need to set your dvd profiler image directory and the link to your collection.xml. Then under metadata providers (Metdata Tools -> Metdata config -> metadata providers) make sure you have dvdprofiler-2 in the list (and before imdb, moviedb... or remove those entries if you do not want to use them as providers)

Ok, for the most part it works GREAT! TY.
One small glitch I can't surpass now. These are the steps I have been taking (9 times now for different reasons) 1. Uninstall SageTV 2. Delete SageTV folder 3. Reinstall current version of SageTV 4. Start and test it 5. Import SageMC Full current version 6. Config and test it 7. Import Jetty 8. Config and test 9. Import Metadata Updater 3.1 10. Start SageTV and open browser to http://htpc:8080/bmt/ 11. Configure for use with DVDProfiler and centralized fanart folder 12. Start scan 13. Scan gets stuck at 60/158 (waited over an hour) 14. Closed out of browser 15. Restarted SageTV 16. Opened browser 17. BMT webui doesnt open, all I get is BMT DIR: and a list of folders 18. Navigated to http://htpc:8080/ 19. Recieve error - Error 404 - Not Found. No context on this server matched or handled this request. Contexts known to this server are:
Hopefully this is last question guys, thanks. |

Sounds like there is a problem file in there that is hanging up BMT. You'll need to turn on BMT's debugging options, and submit it to stuckless over in the BMT thread. I'm sure he'd love to see something that's hanging it up anyways.

yup i agree with fuzzy, sounds like there is a problem file that the automatic scan is gagging on and going into an endless loop. I would do what fuzzy recommends and turn on debug logging and post a question in the BMT thread. Sean is subscribed to that thread so he will definitely see it there... whereas he may not see it here...

Ok then, silly question.
How do I turn on the debugging options and what do I post. (I'm a network guy, not to knowledgable on code and software apps, but I plan on learning soon) |
