Matrox o2mini COMPONENT HD CAPTURE

So finally we have a reasonably priced HD component/hdmi/svhs/composite capture device with a dedicated PCIX card instead of a USB interface.

So, can we get some verification that it is supported before I buy it? It's kinda the holy grail of SAGE support at the moment, and it could bring some serious life back to the product considering QUAM support has been unceremoniously killed off.

PLEASE....WITH SUGAR ON IT?

Don't think this will work. Or at least not with HDMI.

HDMI capture
The HDMI specification defines that Matrox MXO2 Mini cannot capture when connected to copy protected sources. It is the user’s responsibility to confirm copyright ownership before capture or distribution of content.

I would not call that reasonably priced either compared to hdpvr.

Especially when I don't think that's the version with the hardware encoder. I believe that's only on this model:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815106022

I was going to post it a few weeks ago when I first saw it, til I realized it was $850 for the HD PVR equivalent version.

First of all, why would one care whether it's a USB or internal card interface? That seems almost trivial... zero benefit other than personal preference.

Second, Sage would have to support it.

Third, I don't totally get this product. It says realtime x264 encoding, but in the specs it says

"- PC:
Matrox MPEG-2 I-frame HD adjustable from 50 to 300 Mbps
Matrox MPEG-2 I-frame SD adjustable from 10 to 50 Mbps
Uncompressed 8- and 10-bit"

and doesn't say anything about MPEG4 recording in the specs.

It also says:
"PC: First release supports down conversion on output. Additional features will be made available in subsequent software releases at no charge."

... which doesn't sound encouraging if "output" means the recording itself.
