HD-PVR or HD200

I am hesitating between Hauppauge's HD-PVR and Sage's HD200. Of course right now, the HD200 is cheaper but I would have to factor in exchange, shipping costs, and possibly some shocking duty charges. I can pick up the HD-PVR today from Future Shop but at a whopping 275 + taxes.

Considering price, quality, and a certain degree of impatience, what would you recommend?

Not sure how you can compare the two devices. They have totally different functions. Do you want a recorder, or a media extender/sagetv stb?

ohhhhhh that changes everything. I understand now. I want the sagetv box. I thought for some reason the HD-PVR was a media extender. My bad.

I would suggest getting many of both! I have 2 HD-PVRs and 4 HD-200s. HD-PVRs can be bought for C$199 at ncix.com (a Vancouver online store) until Oct15.

the HD-PVR is how you're going to get your live HD TV content onto the HD200

The HD200 seems very stable, but the HD PVR, at least mine, is flakier than breakfast cereal. If you like to spend a lot of time tinkering - then this combo will do that for you. Picture qaulity is great, but at a steep price.
