Yeah, I'm up to date on Playon. It's a sage PC client issue as the script works fine on my HD100. I'm starting to think it has something to do with the Native Recording Patch that I was messing with. Unfortunately, while the patch added support for Win7 codecs, it has issues that make it a bit unready for prime time. I reinstalled Sage on top of itself but I'm thinking there may have been some lingering files from the patch install.

What format is the Daily Show in? Mpeg inside FLV? I'm pretty sure that Sage Player handles .flv container files in my properties.

Wow!! Just received the email....
"Major League Baseball (beta) --> If you have an MLB.tv subscription you can watch any MLB game played this season. PlayOn has MLB.tv support in beta right now. Download the latest version and you'll have it too. Let us know what you think of it."

cc is out and purchasing.... will send a pm immediately.

Just another much requested content brought to us by evil!! Without this plugins development over the past months I don't know were we'd be..... probably bitching more about the extended v7 release date

I know they are saying "they will try", but anyone taking a stab at the March Madness feed? Post ASAP if you get it working! I'd try but I'm stuck at work!

NCAA March Madness
We're hoping to have all 32 of the games tomorrow and Friday. Unfortunately there is no way to test this to be 100% sure it will work as the first games are not until tomorrow, but we're confident that it should work. We figured you'd rather we at least tried. After all, it's no risk to you. So whether your team is Duke, Cornell, Murray State, or any of the other 61 teams, you can watch them play. Just install the latest version and look for March Madness in your list of channels.

I notice that the PlayOn channel for MLB includes this line: "Get high quality streams with MLB NexDef Plug-In". I have this plugin installed. Does that mean I will be able to see the high quality (HD) streams through Sage?

Updated feed files to support latest version of PlayOn (Version 2.59.3729):
  • MLB.tv
  • Pandora Radio
  • Official Comedy Central
  • March Madness (Go Boilers!)

No need to download anything, feeds will update automatically next time you load up a PlayON video (or if you're impatient, you can just double click UPnP2Podcast.exe and it'll update the feeds immediately).

Once again, this requires the latest (3/18/10) version of PlayOn so make sure you're completely updated!! They've even updated since yesterday's (3/17/10) update so make sure you double check!!

I'm hopeful too but they really looked (painfully) bad against Minnesota .

Do we have to watch these games live or will they be available to watch for sometime after they air?

Looks like they're only available live, but I'm also having a problem where I'm clicking on one game and yet it brings up a different game (with no way to load the game I was actually trying to watch).

I don't know, I kinda thought that was perfect timing for an embarrassing loss. Should put a little fight into 'em

Opps Make sure you submit a bug to PlayON, i'm sure they're still frantically trying to iron out their CBS web scrapping for tomorrow (OK, most likely they're watching basketball, but they can take a break for a quick fix ).

OK, watching this via Sage on a PC the aspect ratio is fine. But on both of my HD-100's some of the picture is cut off on all sides. What do I need to do to shrink the picture so that it fits?

Hey EP I know this latest playon update is brand new, but I was wondering how pandora works? I know it's beta. I tried it, and it seems to have a time limit of 49 secs. for me at least. It found my channels and was able to start playing but then stopped as if it was a video that finished.

Just wondering.

Channels and Plugins and Scripts, Oh My!

EP,

When UPnP2Podcast.exe updates the feeds does it check to see what channels, plugins and scripts are installed before deciding what to update, or does it just update everything all the time? I'm asking this because I added a few new PlayOn plugins (including an updated script plugin) and scripts but they do not seem to be showing up in Sage even after updating. I'm trying to figure out what you support and what I need to create .property files for.

As a side note, from PlayOn's perspective, what's the difference between a "Channel" and a "Plugin"? It seems to me that Channels are conceptually the same as plugins (they add content) except the channels are "blessed" (i.e. developed) by MediaMall and plugins are developed by others. Is this correct or is there a significant difference between Channels and Plugins?

Tom

Netflix Instant Queue

Right now I'm using the modification to the Netflix selection that lists all of our Instant Queue selections Alphabetically. This is driving my wife nuts because she goes to the Netflix site and puts the IQ list in order she wants and then can't remember the order when looking at the alpha list. [Actually I can't remember it either.]

Is there a way to display the Netflix Instant Queue in the order which it displays when logged on to one's Netflix account?

Thanks very much.

You can see the top 50 in queue order, or the entire queue in alphabetical order or by genre. But for some reason, PlayOn doesn't have an option to view the entire queue in queue order.

Thanks for the info, but sorry to hear that it doesn't support that function. Guess I'll try lobbying PlayOn. Very much appreciate the help.

I tried it and it seems to work fine for me. I've only just tried it for a couple of minutes now, but it is playing the second song without cutting off. I figure it if transitioned from one song to another, it probably isn't going to cut off.

It doesn't look like you can skip to the next song if you don't like it however.

Update: New feeds are out, nm

Bad news, for some reason I can't VNC into my server to update the feeds for tomorrows basketball games! Its super easy to do yourselves though, i've attached the files which you can just unzip to the usual place (...\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV) or in case theres a problem with the zip you can also open the files manually and copy and paste this into them...

Folder: SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\OnlineVideos\...

Apect Ratios?

What is the latest on Aspect Ratio issues?

I am having a problem with Hulu stuff not filling the screen on a PC client. I get black bars all around. So a Fill will increase the size to full screen. The image then seems to lose sharpness. But shouldn't it correctly fill the screen to start?

I have noticed that the image quality on Hulu Desktop is way better. Plus it correctly deals with the aspect ratios.
