Hi folks,
Finally got my optical audio set up the other day (thanks)... In doing so, I'm noticing a horrendously loud and obnoxious speaker-killer-of-a-noise at the start of recordings. It lasts around 1-2 seconds, and it's at the beginning of (at least) 90% of the recordings I have (doesn't matter if they're HD or not) HD-PVR, HD100, SA Explorer 4250HDC STB... Any thoughts? Thanks!

Also, this is in the recording...not between the HD100 and the TV.
1) Never had this issue until I started recording via optical audio (always have had optical from HD100 to TV/Receiver) 2) Playing a video directly via my PC has the same audio distortion. So, it's definitely between the STB and my HDPVR/PC. One more item that may be asked...I did *not* upgrade to the latest HD-PVR firmware because it broke the system (kept failing during capture). Ok, so yes...I did upgrade but then reverted back to my previous driver. <smile> Thanks again...

Ok, I guess this is my last attempt at some kind of response. Actually surprised I seem to be the only one with this issue?? Would really appreciate any kind of help or direction at all...this noise is going to make me want to go back to RCA audio (ugh).
Please help, thanks! AL

what's your "delay_to_wait_after_tuning" setting? It probably needs to be larger, like maybe 4000, sounds like the recording starts before the audio stream has stabilized from the channel change.

Woot!
It was set at 0, I put it at 3000, working like a charm. Thanks SO much for the help!
